Although I spend a lot of time scratch-building, my actual objective is to run operations. And although I sometimes just let the trains run in circles to watch them riding along, from my point of view the real magic only happens when people or goods are being transported. That makes it even more important, to have a stock of goods.
My first attempt to build some goods for my railway are these crates. The construction is simple, but solid and as a matter of fact the lids can be removed to place items inside. Just like the prototype, the crates are made from boards of wood, held together with nails. So far I’ve made four of these rather large specimens, more will surely follow.
